                              ^{Not when there was an absence of home,}

     _{Rain is romantic.  Or so he has heard it whispered.
     Rain is simply water falling from the sky, no matter how much he may like it.  It fills his hair and cloak, setting weight upon his shoulders.  It dulls the clicking of his toes on the concrete and fills his senses with its heady, earthen scent.  It causes the normal to take shelter beneath umbrellas, awnings, roofs.
     Robust darkness blends with his form, and he quietly traverses through the sleeping city.  A girl stands beneath a covering, and she is the only one out here.  Is it expected of him to greet her, or could he merely pass by–with a brush of khadi against her?}
